Goals

BHHTF aims to provide valuable creative opportunities for diverse emerging and established theatre and hip-hop artists. We prioritize working with local talent when producing new work but embrace artists and guests from around the globe.

About BHHTF

16 Bars

Over 16 days or "bars", playwrights and production teams will devise new one-act plays inspired by a song from the popular Hip-Hop canon.

On The Stage

16 Bars Premiere

The culmination of 16 Bars is the premiere of several new works inspired by some of the most iconic songs in hip-hop, but this ain't no sing-along. These are the stories you know and love re-imagined for the theatrical stage.

Beyond the Stage

The Block Party

Hip-Hop started as a block party, so we felt it only right to continue the tradition.
